S1/2 Geography
In S1, you will study Geography as part of the combined Social Subjects course.
The first module will look at Scotland: where it is, the climate, main towns, cities and rivers and population.
Activities include PowerPoint presentations, research and discussion.
The second module studies the rainforest and compares this tropical region with the Scottish climate.
Activities include role playing, investigation and discussion.
The final S1 module is Ordnance Survey mapping. In this unit you will learn how to read 4 and 6 figure grid references, how to use a compass and how to plan a route.
Activities include a mapping activity around the school and walking a planned route around Jedburgh.
In S2, you will continue to study Geography as part of the Social Subjects course.
The first module will look at Japan. You will learn about Japanese culture, language, landmarks and much more!
Activities include PowerPoint presentations, research, drawing, investigating as well as creating and advertising your own invention.
The second module looks at China, a country of contrasts.
Activities include investigation and research, culminating in a tourist information leaflet.
